American Industrial Gases was created by Rob Smith as a second-generation owner of an industrial gases company. Rob is preparing the company for many customer focused years ahead and is training the younger family members now for when the day comes for them to lead. Rob has known the intricacies of packaged gases distribution and related products having been involved with his father’s business called Bob Smith Gas Products since the 1960’s. Rob’s father sold the company to a global major gas company in 1996 which provided a retirement for Bob Smith pictured next to his route truck in the 1950’s when he first began with a Houston Texas based company called Stoffel Distributing Company. Mr. Stoffel had three stores when he decided to sell his company to Bob Smith.
